After a very rough start to a shortened 12 game homestand, the Tigers roared back and finished the homestand with a 5 game win streak.  Also, the sit a top the AL Central all by themselves with a win today combined with a Cleveland loss.  The Tigers head into the All Star break feeling pretty good about themselves and hopefully they can continue their winning ways when the regular season picks up again on Thursday.

Today, the Tigers brought out the brooms and completed a 3 game sweep over the AL East leading Boston Red Sox with a 6-5 victory.  What makes the win even more impresive is that the Tigers roughed up Japanese sensation Daisuke Matsuzaka.  In his previous start against the Bengals, Dice-K pitched very well.  Unfortunately it wouldn't be a repeat performance from him and I like that.

Tigers 6, Red Sox 5

12 Days to go.
